□Go to www.wikispaces.com □In the ‘Get Started’ Box (on the right), type in a username, password and email □Click the ‘Get Started’ button
2. Join this wiki site
□Go to www.e1bwikisineducation.wikispaces.com □In the top box on the left hand side, click the link for ‘Join this wiki’ □Click on the ‘request membership’ button
3. Create a page
□Click on the ‘hands-on learning’ link on the left hand navigation bar □Now that you are signed into wikispace & are a member of this site, you should see an ‘Edit’ button on the top right corner of the page – click it! □Once you are in edit mode, you will see a toolbar across the top of the wiki page □Change your participant # to your name □Using the mouse, highlight your name □Click on the globe/link icon □A box will appear, simply click ‘ok’ to create a new page in the wiki □Click save
4. Adding your page to the navigation bar
□Click on the ‘edit navigation’ link at the bottom of the navigation bar □You will see another page for editing appear □Type your page name in the appropriate place □Highlight your name using the mouse □Click on the ‘Link’ button (see above) □Select ‘wiki link’ □Under the heading ‘page name’, click on the link ‘choose an existing page’ □Find your page name in the list and click ‘ok’
4. Add text to your page
□Adding text to your wiki is simple…. Just type! □Click on the ‘A’ icon to change the font and color of the text
5. Add a file to your page
□To add a file, simple click on the picture icon □Choose the ‘browse’ button to find and upload a file from your computer □The file will appear in the box as an icon □Click the ‘insert’ button
6. Add a picture to your page
□Follow the procedure for adding a file above, but choose a picture instead
7. Add a widget to your page
□To add a widget (video, audio, polling tool that is published on the web), click on the TV icon □Choose the type of media you wish to add □Copy and paste the embedding code and click save
